Modern Bauhaus design villa with fantastic sea views
Situated on a slope above the Atlantic Ocean, this newly built Bauhaus villa is the ideal retreat for two people. Close to Puntagorda in the southwest of the island, the house is located in one of La Palma's most beautiful nature reserves. The villa's sleek lines are emphasised by the floating construction of the surrounding terrace – reminiscent of a ship's gangway – which leads to a spectacular infinity pool that seems to merge into the azure ocean. Picturesque, large cacti accentuate the terraced garden landscape with its graphic shapes.
The impressive architecture with 3.70 m high ceilings made of exposed concrete lends the casually elegant interior a loft character that emphasises the timeless furnishings of vintage furniture and international art. The large floor-to-ceiling windows almost make you feel like you're on the bridge of a ship with a unique panoramic view. The airy interiors of the house are furnished with great attention to detail and offer a heavenly oasis of relaxation with their sun-drenched rooms – a spacious bedroom with bathroom, living-dining area with open-plan kitchen – large panoramic windows and surrounding wooden terraces. The Mediterranean garden landscape, which blends into the natural scenery with its lush vegetation, constantly surprises with new views of the magnificent natural surroundings and the Atlantic Ocean. A rocky outcrop jutting from the hillside offers another place to chill and enjoy the unforgettable sunsets and starry skies.
Due to its location, this house is not suitable for children. Good to know …
The villa is located near Puntagorda, a village in the north-west of La Palma, a heartshaped island with secluded beaches, volcanoes and dense forests. Located between the ravines of Garome and Izcagua, Puntagorda is surrounded by pine and almond trees and is famous for its almond blossoms in January and February. Visit the “Almendro en Flor” festival in February with music, dancing and free almond and palm wine, or the patron saint festival in honour of San Mauro Abad in August.
The Barranco de Izcagua and the forest of El Fayal are highly recommended excursion destinations nearby. A popular market, the Mercadillo, is held in the village at weekends, selling local produce, wine, cheese and handicrafts. Hiking trails lead directly from the villa into the unspoilt nature of the greenest island of the Canaries. The unique biodiversity of vegetation and fauna of "Europe's Galapagos" is a unique natural spectacle.
La Palma is famous for its clear night skies with minimal light pollution, so you can experience an evening sky full of stars. The observatory on the Roque de Los Muchacho is one of the largest in the world and can be visited by prior reservation.
There is a restaurant 1 km from the house, a supermarket 2 km and the nearest sandy beach is 20 km away. Location
